What is IM?
IM is instant messaging. The most popular IM services are MSN and Yahoo! Messenger, but there are lots more. You can add all your IM accounts to Trutap and have multiple chats at the same time!
What IM services can I use?
Trutap currently supports MSN, Yahoo!, Google Talk, AIM (AOL), Rediff Bol, ICQ and Jabber instant messaging accounts, as well as Facebook Chat. We'll be adding more, including MySpace IM, very soon! You can only add one account of each type.
How do I set up IM?
To set up your IM account simply add your normal IM account details and sign in. You'll see your IM Contacts appear. If they don't appear you may be offline. You can check this on your homepage.
How do I sign into IM?
Go to the IM section and select the account you want (e.g Yahoo!), then choose Sign in from the menu. Alternately you can sign in to all at once if you are using more than one IM account.
Can't sign into IM?
Check that your username and password are correct. Alternatively check your connection (in Settings) and, if all else fails, contact us via Trutap Guru (in Contacts) or support@trutap.net.
Starting a chat
Once you have signed in, select the IM buddy you wish to chat with and start chatting. You can have multiple chats at the same time!
Where are my active chats?
Any buddies you are chatting with will show as orange at the top of the contacts screen. You can return to this screen from any active chat by going left.
